The vineyards where this wine originates are located on a hilltop in Appiano and surround the Krafuss Estate. This unique location boasts a combination of factors that create an ideal environment for the cultivation of Pinot Noir grapes. The vineyards’ altitude, orientation, soil composition, microclimate and ample aeration all contribute to an atmosphere of dynamic tension. The KRAFUSS Pinot Noir is distinguished by its elegance, body and salinity.

Dating back to the Renaissance and meticulously preserved, the Krafuss Estate is owned by Roland Riz, Alois Lageder’s father-in-law. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, the historic building bears witness to the economic importance of the vineyards in the area above San Michele Appiano, dating back to the Middle Ages. In 1991, we transformed the vineyards, planting them exclusively with Pinot Noir using the wire trellis system. In 2013, we adopted biodynamic farming methods.
